Push continues to rectify Nazi-era looting of a 'Gold Train'
The Gold Train is an "unexplained departure" from U.S. policy of returning property to Holocaust victims, according to a 1999 draft report from the Presidential Advisory Commission on Holocaust Assets in the United States. A bi-partisan clamor in Congress is growing in an effort to rectify one of the last reversible injustices against Holocaust survivors. Will they beat the clock?

Do Jews have a future in Europe?
Anti-Semitism in Europe was for nearly two millennia a Christian phenomenon; now it is basically a Muslim one. That is the basic message of an officially-commissioned study by the European Union (EU) which became notorious in recent weeks when the EU itself quashed the 104-page draft version.

Even in quiet German city, European Jews fear ’new’ anti-Semitism
Across much of Europe, Jews see old prejudices mixing with new threats from militants among the continent’s 17 million Muslims. In a clear reflection of Israeli-Palestinian tensions and the war in Iraq, many Jews also say they sense growing hostility among European intellectuals they see as demonizing Israel.

Ritual Murders of Jews in Paris
French Jews live in constant fear. Everyday activities, such as taking a taxi, going to synagogue or shopping can bring attacks. The entire community is traumatized. This pattern was effectively repeated with the November murders in Paris after initial reports indicated that both cases were anti-Semitic crimes.

Muslims, far left, far right hate Israel for very different reasons
This combination of anti-Zionist and anti-American views formed an important element in the emergence of an anti-Semitic mood in Europe. Israel, portrayed as a capitalistic, imperialistic power, and the United States are depicted as evildoers in the Middle East and as a negative influence generally on world affairs.

Attacks by Arabs on Jews in France Revive Old Fears
Some French Jews, particularly working-class and middle-class Jews of North African origin, are convinced that France is not entirely safe for them. They say the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the American occupation of Iraq have morphed into a battleground for French Arab Muslims to attack Jews.

The Socialist Roots of Anti-Semitism
The links between anti-Semitism and anti-capitalism could not be more relevant today. Islamic terrorists nearly always express a hatred of both Jews and capitalism. It is no accident that the al-Qaeda group, radically anti-Semitic in stance, attacked the World Trade Center, a symbolic icon of economic might.

It's not 1938, but anti-Semitic violence should cause us to focus on the war against terror
This is not 1938. Then, the Jews were powerless as they watched a feckless West stand by with indifference while hatred consumed European Jewry. That's no longer the case. For all of its imperfections and failures, the existence of a sovereign State of Israel alters the equation in our favor.

A Time To Hate
King Solomon advises us, among other things, that there is a season for everything - including a time to love and a time to hate. As a young child of Holocaust survivors, I instinctively internalized this feeling, deriving satisfaction when, for example, I heard of a train derailment in Germany with many fatalities.

The 'new' anti-semitism: is Europe in grip of worst bout of hatred since the Holocaust?
Sixty years after the Holocaust, European Jews and Israelis are increasingly wondering if Europe is being sucked into the worst wave of anti-semitism since the second world war. Israelis felt their fears were confirmed by an opinion poll of EU citizens that placed Israel as the greatest danger to world peace.

What type of world will my children live in?
When I look at my kids, I worry that across the world Jewish children are being de-humanized. I think about the European and American press portraying Jews using old horrible stereotypes. And just like 70 years ago I see much of the world refusing to acknowledge the scope of the problem or act to prevent it.

Survivor of Nazi Experiments Says $8,000 Isn't Enough
The medical experiments that Simon Rozenkier says he saw and experienced in Nazi concentration camps strain the imagination. He said Dr. Mengele had thrown a Jewish man into a bath of ice and let him freeze to death, in a study intended to help Nazi pilots survive when they were shot down over icy seas.
